EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY-DIRECTOR OF INVESTIGATIONS (GRADE ACB 3)

To provide strategic leadership, direction, and oversight to the Investigations Division by developing, implementing, and optimizing advanced investigative strategies, techniques, and operational protocols.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directing, overseeing, and coordinating all operational functions of the Investigations Division to ensure timely and thorough investigation of corruption and related offences.
  • Optimizing financial crime and anti-corruption investigations by adopting international best practices, coordinating case operations, and reviewing and updating strategic investigations targets.
  • Collaborating closely with the Legal and Prosecutions Division to ensure case files meet standard evidential thresholds for prosecution.
  • Conducting performance appraisals, mentoring investigative teams, and cultivating cross-functional collaboration and working relationships among teams.
  • Formulating, justifying, and managing the annual budget for the Investigations Division.
  • Serving as the principal advisor to the Director General on all operational and strategic matters relating to investigations.
  • Submitting Complaints Review Committee schedules to Director General
  • Producing periodic reports for the Division
  • Reviewing investigative reports, summaries of findings, and actionable recommendations.
  • Developing comprehensive plans for record retention, digital case management, and institutional investigation policies, procedures and protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's Degree in Law, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Forensic Audit/Accounting, Strategic Management or related field and Bachelor's degree in any other field.
  • Documented training in advanced financial intelligence, digital forensics, asset tracing, procurement fraud, corruption or economic crimes investigations or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years' professional experience in investigative work, with at least 5 years serving at Senior Management level in a law enforcement agency.

Details of the Posts are as follows:

  1. Employment will be on a three (3) year contract period, renewable depending on performance.
  2. Competitive/attractive remuneration package will be offered.
