About this role

Purpose of the Job

To coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, ensuring the efficient storage, handling and distribution of medicines and medical supplies throughout the supply chain.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing monthly logistics and distribution plans based on supplier deliveries and customer requirements.
  • Supervising labelling, stacking, loading and dispatch activities in accordance with SOPs.
  • Providing dispatch instructions to warehouse staff and forklift operators prior to loading operations.
  • Preparing and maintaining logistics and dispatch reports.
  • Planning resource utilisation within the logistics section.
  • Reviewing logistics data and making recommendations for operational improvements.
  • Coordinating receipt and unloading of goods.
  • Supervising warehouse assistants, loading personnel and forklift operators during logistics operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) CMST policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing logistics performance and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent, with credits in English, Mathematics and any two science subjects.
  • Membership of the Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS) is required.
  • A qualification in Pharmacy will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience in logistics, transport management, fleet management or supply chain operations.

Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Knowledge of fleet and transport management systems.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong report-writing skills.
  • Practical knowledge of logistics information systems.
