Position Purpose
The Program Manager provides strategic direction, operational leadership, and quality oversight primarily for the national integrated sample transport program.
Working closely with the Regional Coordinators and government stakeholders at the national level, this role is responsible for ensuring the quality and timely delivery of the national integrated sample transportation program, ensuring that the program remains uninterrupted, is optimally resourced, and remains compliant with national and international health logistics and specifically sample transportation standards. S/he will also provide technical oversight of R4H's biohazardous medical waste disposal assignments. Ensuring that all plans and processes follow the required environmental compliances for consolidation, transportation, and destruction of such waste. The incumbent plays a key role in programme expansion by fostering partnerships with government and non-government development partners, representing R4H on relevant technical platforms, supporting resource mobilization initiatives, and overseeing the development and management of new projects to advance the organization's strategic objectives.
Required Education and Experience:
- Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Social Sciences, or related fields from recognized and accredited institutions
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in program/project management with at least 3 years served at a management level
- Technical Knowledge: Strong program or project management skills are required, and an understanding of local and international laboratory standard operating procedures is an added advantage.
- Certifications: IATA (International Air Transport Association) certification or related fields is an added advantage.
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to synthesize complex health data into clear, actionable briefs and reports.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills tailored for diverse donors, government and non-government stakeholders and community audiences.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and organizational skills, diplomacy, attention to detail, ability to make difficult managerial decisions under pressure, and demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism in management of official resources
