About this role

Purpose of the Job

To support the effective provision and coordination of security services at Regional Medical Stores and ensure implementation of approved security systems and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting implementation of approved security systems, operations and procedures at branch level.
  • Coordinating branch-level security activities and providing support to branch management on security matters.
  • Supervising contracted security personnel and monitoring compliance with established security procedures.
  • Managing security control room operations and monitoring security systems.
  • Maintaining custody and control of keys in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Receiving and analysing daily security reports and escalating incidents appropriately.
  • Responding to security incidents and emergencies in liaison with branch management and the Security Services Officer.
  • Conducting tactical patrols and inspections to enforce security standards.
  • Monitoring CCTV systems, vehicle tracking systems, radio communication equipment and electric fence installations.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and professionalism in the execution of security responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Security Studies or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent.

Experience

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in security operations, preferably in a busy public or private sector organisation.
  • Retired junior police officers or military officers with skills in electronic security systems will have an added advantage.

  • Knowledge of modern security systems and surveillance technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate rapid response to emergencies.
  • Good networking and relationship-management skills.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to prepare security reports and maintain accurate records.
